I've completely stopped listening to music on my way to work. I work in sales as a mortgage banker.

There are specific reasons why you should stop listening to music on your way to work.

Here are 3 reasons why you shouldn't listen to music on the way to work.

1. Turn your car into a university on wheels.

Start listening to personal development, like Jim Rohn, Anthony Robbins, the greats who have the words to say for where you want to be in life.

Listen to it multiple times because the motivation also the wisdom you'll receive from them will have a breakthrough in your subconscious and you will reap the rewards of being disciplined.

2. So you can think about your goals.

Amateurs try, professionals work. If you've ever met a top performer in sales you'll know that goal setting ranks very high on the list of things they think about before work.

It consumes them to surpass quota. It doesn't matter if you're in sales or not, goals are number one when you're trying to improve yourself in the marketplace.

If you're more valuable in the marketplace people will come knocking for higher paying opportunities.

3. Because you need to have a clear mind.

Success is never an accident, sometimes you must walk on the path that is least taken.

Everyone you know is probably bumping the latest pop music or listening to the radio. This is an extension on number two on the list.

Success is a lonely road, you shouldn't follow what everyone is doing. If you want anything in life you must take it by force. Not physically but mentally be prepared for all the things you'll be doing on your shift and all the stress that comes with it.

If you come in calm and collected you'll be revered and be able to command yourself to not get overwhelmed.

This article isn't meant to say to never listen to music in your car, but if you're going to work you should be listening to the things that will make you better at what you do and your overall well-being.

It doesn't hurt. You can either suffer the pain of discipline or the pain of regret, one weighs ounces and the other weighs tons.

Use your time in your car, or if you take public transportation to listen to an audio book of what you want to become in life. It will work wonders.
